Jesus is the Way
“Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved”
God’s Plan for Man
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, a couple things happen. Most importantly we are reconciled to the Father. This means we can come to the Father to have a relationship with Him. This was the ultimate goal of the Cross.
And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
2nd Corinthians 5:18-19 (NLT)
The second thing the Bible tells us is we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of God. We become new creations (people) in Christ. A creative work was done in us through God’s Word and His Spirit. (2 Cor. 5:17 (KJV))
‘He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.’
- 2nd Corinthians 5:15-18 (NLT)
'For He rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.'
- Colossians 1:13-14 (NLT)
When you accept Jesus as the Lord of your life you don't continue to live the same way you used to. Imagine moving from your current Country into a whole new Country. You would have to change your citizenship, and pledge allegiance to your new citizenship as well as learn new laws that govern that Country. It is the same concept when you get saved. Your life comes under new rulership, so you no longer live for yourself, but for Christ.
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) further illustrates this:
'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.'
“Lord Jesus, I repent for my rebellious sin. I believe that you died on the Cross and you rose again. Come into my life, I submit myself to You. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and make me new. In Jesus name, Amen.”
